Auditions are open to all!
Casting decisions for all parts will be based on auditions and experience. Please note that while experience is helpful it is not a prerequisite to being cast in this production.
Newcomers are encouraged and welcomed. You may not be cast but you will have as fair an opportunity as can be provided.
This show calls for a large cast. Most parts require singing and movement to music, however there are some non-singing roles as well. Please see the cast outline below for more details.
Voice Auditions
Please be prepared to sing something from “The Music Man”, preferably a song specific to the character for which you are auditioning. Pre-recorded piano accompaniment will be available for all songs from the show. All actors auditioning for singing roles will also be asked to sing a verse of “Wells Fargo Wagon” as a member of the chorus. Lyrics and accompaniment will be provided. Please familiarize yourself with music from the show prior to auditions.
Dance Auditions
Be prepared to move with music at the direction of the choreographer and director. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can move in.
Acting Auditions
Familiarize yourself with the script so you will be prepared to read as a character from the show. Reading selections will not be announced in advance. You may be called upon to read different selections or characters as well as the role for which you are auditioning.
Young Peoples Auditions
Come prepared to have some fun. Your Director is a firm believer in running a light hearted set with wit and humor. There will be no yelling at actors, no demeaning comments and no pressure applied to your performance. This is an excellent opportunity to experience musical theatre from the inside and to have a good time doing it. If you are not able to audition on Saturday, Sept. 6th, you will be welcomed on either of the other audition dates.

If you are unavailable on the assigned audition dates please call the Director well in advance of Sept. 6th to schedule an early audition.
This is a classic, beloved show full of great music and wonderful characters. We invite and encourage your participation. Pass the word… everyone is welcome.
